Our mission at Azul Wasi is to improve the quality of life for children who have been placed in high-risk situations, whether due to their parents' extreme poverty, or because they have been kidnapped, abused, or abandoned. We work in coordination with authorities and family courts, focusing primarily on the well-being and education of the children to ensure their opportunity for a professional life and integration into society. Azul Wasi also provides shelter, food, education, and medical care in a loving, welcoming, and supportive family environment. We prioritize personalized attention and love for every child or young person who enters our home.
Recent statistics show that Cusco has a higher rate of child poverty. Azul Wasi seeks to identify those at high risk and help them build a better future. Our goal is not only to save as many children as possible, but also to create a sustainable foundation that allows us to continue this project. Essentially, our vision of helping the greatest number of children possible requires expanding our facilities and developing a sustainable infrastructure that meets all their needs. We work diligently to achieve an economically viable and sustainable future and are grateful for all the support we have received so far from our international community.
Our experience
At Azul Wasi, we have developed several years of experience in the construction, agriculture, and childcare sectors, all within our institution. Therefore, our project members not only have extensive experience with at-risk children, but also with the resources necessary for a sustainable lifestyle, such as livestock and plants.
Meanwhile, we've grown accustomed to sharing our project with the world. From daily visitors and international donors to long-term volunteers, we regularly meet and welcome people from all over the globe, all with a deep desire to help, become part of our multicultural community, and make a difference in the lives of our children.
At Azul Wasi, we are a family; a safe space and a home for our children. We continually strive to create a more sustainable environment and a higher quality of life to ensure a better future for our children, something that wouldn't be possible without you. With the help of volunteers and friends like you, we have been able to build and expand our property, all while keeping smiles on our children's faces! We appreciate any support and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
